Honda’s supersport gets Fireblade brakes and a new nose

Summary: The 2027 Honda CBR600RR gets a much-needed refresh. A new front fascia folds the winglets into an integrated spoiler, and Fireblade-derived Nissin radial calipers and ABS modes sharpen the braking. The 5-inch TFT is new, and the 599cc inline-four still revs to 14,250 rpm. U.S. plans haven’t been announced.

Finally! The Honda CBR600RR is getting a much-needed refresh, and we’re checking it out live at EICMA 2026 in Milan. Honda’s middleweight supersport legend took nine World Supersport titles, and for 2027 it gets a fresh face and hardware straight off the Fireblade. This is our hands-on first look from the show floor. For the full technical rundown, read our 2027 Honda CBR600RR Preview.

CBR600RR Styling: Fireblade Face, Ram-Air Front and Center

As you can see, the CBR600RR’s front end now looks very similar to the 2027 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. The old lower winglets are gone, reprofiled into a front spoiler that tucks under the headlights for a cleaner look. There’s no loss of downforce, and the new shape pushes air away from your arms, too. A big ram-air intake sits dead center, flanked by twin LED headlights that are kept slim to give the duct as much room as possible. Look down and you can see those beautiful headers.

The bike on the stand wore the Ignition Red HRC TriColour paint, and Honda’s offering Matt Ballistic Black Metallic for buyers who like their supersport stealthy. There’s even a Made in Japan sticker on it. Nice touch.

Fireblade Brakes and ABS Modes

The biggest hardware change is the brakes. Those Nissin radial-mount four-piston calipers look different because they are different. Honda lifted them from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, and they clamp 310mm floating discs with more heat resistance on track. The ABS module comes from the Fireblade too, and it brings three modes. Standard is the wet-weather and stability setting. Track turns off rear lift control. Race goes further for circuit riders.

The dash is now a 5-inch full-color TFT, with a lap timer and an LED shift light above the display. Electronics still run through a Bosch six-axis IMU with three riding modes, two User modes, nine-level Honda Selectable Torque Control, wheelie control, rear lift control and cornering ABS.

What Carries Over

The fuel tank, swingarm, frame and tail look like carryover parts, and they are. The die-cast aluminum twin-spar frame, aluminum swingarm and Honda Electronic Steering Damper stay put. So does the fully adjustable 41mm Showa Big Piston fork, with a fully adjustable Showa shock working through Unit Pro-Link. The riding position doesn’t change. Neither does the screaming 599cc 16-valve inline-four, which still makes 119 hp at 14,250 rpm with an assist/slipper clutch and a standard quickshifter. It already met Euro 5 when it returned to Europe for 2024, thanks in part to a bigger catalyzer. Honda is also offering three HRC Race Kits for track use only.

Verdict: Bring It to America

Is this the update the CBR600RR needed? The brakes and ABS are real improvements, and the new nose makes it look like a little Fireblade. It’s not a ground-up redesign, but the bones were always good. American Honda hasn’t announced U.S. plans or pricing yet. We hope it makes the trip, because we can’t wait to ride it here in America.
