2027 Honda CBR600RR supersport in Ignition Red Tricolour HRC livery, left front three-quarter studio view showing the new integrated front spoiler, radial front brakes and center-up exhaust
The winglets didn’t disappear, they just went undercover. Honda’s 600 now hides its downforce in plain sight and stops like a Fireblade.

Fireblade brakes, 3-mode ABS, about $14,730 in UK

Summary: Honda’s updated 2027 CBR600RR keeps its 599cc inline-four rated at 119 hp (89 kW) at 14,250 rpm and adds Fireblade-derived Nissin radial four-piston front calipers, three-mode ABS, a 5-inch TFT and a cleaner nose with an integrated spoiler. It’s £10,999 (about $14,730) in the UK. U.S. pricing hasn’t been announced.

Remember when the 600cc supersport class was declared dead? Honda didn’t get the memo, or it read it and laughed. The CBR600RR came back to Europe for 2024 after a seven-year absence, and Honda says it has sold more than 9,600 of them there since. Now the 2027 CBR600RR gets a round of targeted upgrades: front brakes and an ABS module borrowed from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, three selectable ABS modes, a bigger 5-inch TFT and a reworked front fairing that hides the winglets inside a new spoiler. Honda revealed it online on October 20 alongside the all-new CBR500R Four, and both are expected on Honda’s stand in Hall 7 at Fiera Milano Rho for EICMA 2026. We’re in Milan for the show, and we plan to give the 600’s new nose a very close look. Follow every debut on our EICMA Motorcycle Show hub.

What’s New for 2027

This isn’t a ground-up redesign. Honda calls it a set of “targeted upgrades,” and the list is short but meaningful for anyone who rides hard:

  • Nissin radial-mount four-piston front calipers taken from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade
  • Fireblade-derived ABS module with three modes: Standard, Track and Race
  • Full-color TFT display grown to 5 inches
  • New front fascia with the old winglets reprofiled into an integrated front spoiler
  • Three new HRC Race Kits for track and competition use

Everything else, from the high-revving engine to the IMU-based electronics and the chassis, carries over. That’s not a complaint. The European-market 600RR already had a spec sheet that would make a lot of liter bikes from a few years ago blush.

Fireblade Brakes and Three-Mode ABS

The biggest functional change is up front. Honda swapped in the Fireblade’s Nissin radial-mount four-piston calipers, which it says offer better heat resistance plus the braking force and stable control needed on a racetrack. They clamp dual 12.2-inch (310 mm) floating discs, fed by a radial-piston master cylinder. Out back is an 8.7-inch (220 mm) disc with a single-piston caliper.

The ABS module also comes from the Fireblade, and it unlocks three modes. Standard is the stability-focused setting for a wide range of conditions, especially wet roads. Track removes Rear Lift Control for stronger braking on a circuit. Race goes further and disables rear ABS, so the system only manages front-wheel slip. Cornering ABS remains part of the package, managed by the Bosch six-axis IMU. In other words, the 600RR now lets you choose how much help you want when you’re trail-braking into Turn 1 a little too optimistically. We’ve all been there.

The Engine: 599cc and a 14,250-RPM Peak

The heart of the CBR600RR stays the same, and that’s good news for anyone who likes their inline-fours loud and angry. The liquid-cooled DOHC, 16-valve inline-four displaces 599cc (36.6 ci) with a 2.64 x 1.67-inch (67 x 42.5 mm) bore and stroke and a 12.2:1 compression ratio. Honda rates it at 89 kW (119 hp) at 14,250 rpm with 46.5 lb-ft (63 Nm) of torque at 11,500 rpm.

Honda’s press kit details the work behind those numbers. The camshafts, valve springs and crankshaft use upgraded materials to handle high-rpm inertia and durability. A 1.73-inch (44 mm) throttle body feeds re-shaped intake ports that flow 2.2% more. Inlet valve closing comes 5 degrees earlier, and exhaust valve opening 5 degrees later, for better filling and scavenging. Valve sizes are 1.08 inches (27.5 mm) intake and 0.89 inches (22.5 mm) exhaust. The 4-2-1 exhaust uses large-bore pipes and exits through Honda’s signature center-up muffler. An assist/slipper clutch cuts lever effort by 32% compared with a standard design, Honda says, and a quickshifter with three feel settings is standard.

Honda UK lists a 158 mph (255 km/h) top speed. We’ll take Honda’s word for it, since the autostrada police in Milan probably won’t.

Electronics: Fireblade Brains in a 600

The CBR600RR’s electronics come from the Fireblade and the RC213V-S. Throttle-by-wire works with a Bosch six-axis IMU that calculates 100 times a second. It runs 9-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Wheelie Control, Rear Lift Control and Cornering ABS.

There are three default riding modes, Mode 1 (Fast Riding), Mode 2 (Fun Riding) and Mode 3 (Comfortable Riding), plus two User modes. In those you set Power (levels 1-5), Engine Brake (1-3), Wheelie Control (1-3 or off) and HSTC (1-9 or off). Modes can be switched on the move from the left switchgear. The ECU-controlled Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) softens at low speed and firms up at high speed.

The new 5-inch full-color TFT shows lap time, lap count and fastest lap. Five white shift-light LEDs sit above the screen. Honda UK lists RoadSync connectivity. LED lighting, an Emergency Stop Signal and Honda’s HISS immobilizer round out the equipment.

Chassis and Aero

The hollow, die-cast aluminum twin-spar frame and aluminum swingarm carry over. Honda’s suspension is fully adjustable at both ends: a 41 mm Showa Big Piston inverted fork up front and a Showa shock working through Unit Pro-Link out back, with 5.0 inches (128 mm) of rear axle travel. Geometry is tight, with a 53.9-inch (1,370 mm) wheelbase, about 24 degrees of caster and 3.9 inches (100 mm) of trail. Cast wheels wear Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires in 120/70ZR17 front and 180/55ZR17 rear sizes. Honda’s spec sheets list curb weight at 428 pounds (194 kg) with an 18-liter (4.8-gallon) tank.

The styling change is subtle but smart. The old lower winglets are now a frontal spoiler built into the fairing under the headlights. Honda says the cleaner look costs nothing in downforce or drag, and it helps steer air away from the rider’s arms to reduce buffeting. The riding position doesn’t change. The screen still sits at 38 degrees, and seat height is 32.3 inches (820 mm). Colors are Ignition Red (Tricolour) and Matt Ballistic Black Metallic. Honda says the black is a nod to winter-testing liveries.

HRC Race Kits and Accessories

For 2027, HRC offers three CBR600RR Race Kits, for circuit use only. Honda UK lists them as WSS (Supersport Next Generation), SPB (Sportbike) and Stock/Trackday. Depending on the kit, parts include the ECU, wiring harness, cylinder head, camshaft, pistons, clutch, intake and exhaust, a bigger radiator and suspension. Parts can be bought individually or as a complete kit. Honda hasn’t published kit pricing.

Street riders get two Genuine Honda accessory packs. The Racing Pack adds an HRC oil filler cap, a carbon-look tank pad, Tricolour wheel stripes and a seat cowl in red or black. The Comfort Pack includes a seat bag that expands from 15 to 22 liters (4.0 to 5.8 gallons), five-level heated grips and a USB-C socket.

Price and U.S. Availability

Honda UK lists the 2027 CBR600RR at £10,999 on the road. That’s about $14,730 at November 2, 2026 exchange rates, but UK prices include 20% VAT, so that number is not a U.S. sticker. American Honda hasn’t announced the 2027 CBR600RR. Here’s the catch for U.S. riders: the 2026 CBR600RR sold in America is the older-generation model, without the IMU or traction control. It lists at $11,499 base, or $12,499 with ABS, plus $600 destination. Motorcycle.com and TopSpeed have reported a California Air Resources Board certification for a 2027 CBR600RR with a new engine family code, which points to the modern bike coming here. Until American Honda confirms it, U.S. price and timing are N/A.
