New metallic blue for EICMA at $15,349
Husqvarna is heading to Milan with a fresh coat of paint on its favorite travel bike, and we’ll be right there in the aisles at EICMA 2026 to see it in person. The 2027 Husqvarna Norden 901 debuts a new metallic blue colorway, and it is already listed on Husqvarna’s U.S. website with a base MSRP of $15,349 plus an $800 freight charge.
The short answer: The 2027 Husqvarna Norden 901 is a color update, not a redesign. It keeps the 889cc parallel twin, WP APEX suspension, 21/18-inch tubeless spoked wheels and the full electronics package, and adds a new metallic blue livery. U.S. base MSRP is $15,349 plus $800 freight, and Husqvarna will show it at EICMA 2026 in Milan.
What’s New for the 2027 Husqvarna Norden 901?
In a word: blue. Husqvarna Mobility’s EICMA26 press release calls the 2027 Norden 901 “distinguished by a new metallic blue colourway that complements the distinctive design of Husqvarna’s travel machine.” On the bike pictured on Husqvarna’s U.S. site, the dark metallic blue covers the fuel tank and front bodywork, with white rear bodywork, a topographic-map graphic on the tank shrouds and yellow accents on the seat stitching and fork guards.
Everything under the paint carries over. The release says the bike “continues to be powered by its proven 889 cc parallel-twin engine,” and the U.S. technical sheet lists the same engine, chassis, suspension and brake hardware we know from the current Norden. That’s not a knock. When a bike already works, the smartest update is sometimes just a nicer shade of fast.
The Norden 901 will be on display at Husqvarna’s booth in Hall 22, Booth G11, during EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy (November 3-8). For the rest of the show, check our EICMA Motorcycle Show hub and our 2026 EICMA Preview.
2027 Husqvarna Norden 901 Price and Availability
Husqvarna’s U.S. site lists the 2027 Norden 901 at a base MSRP of $15,349, plus $800 freight, for a total of $16,149 before dealer setup, taxes, title and registration. If you want the fully loaded travel version, the 2027 Norden 901 Expedition is listed at $16,999 plus the same $800 freight. The Expedition adds WP XPLOR suspension with 240 mm (9.4 in) of travel front and rear, a heated seat and grips, a touring windshield, side bags and the Connectivity Unit.
The EICMA release does not give a U.S. arrival date for the new color. The 2027 model is already listed on Husqvarna’s U.S. website, so your local Husqvarna dealer is the best bet for exact timing.
Engine: 889cc Parallel Twin With a Quickshifter
The heart of the Norden 901 is an 889cc (54.3 cu in) liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-stroke parallel twin with a 90.7 x 68.8 mm (3.57 x 2.71 in) bore and stroke and a 13.5:1 compression ratio. Husqvarna’s U.S. spec sheet lists 77 kW and 100 Nm (73.8 lb-ft) of torque. The press release rounds that to 105 hp. Technically, 77 kW is 105 metric horsepower (PS), or about 103 SAE horsepower, so call it a hair over 100 ponies however you count them.
Twin balancer shafts help calm vibration, and a Bosch EMS with ride-by-wire handles fueling through a Dellorto 46 mm throttle body. A cable-operated PASC power-assist slipper clutch lightens lever effort and helps keep the rear tire in line during aggressive downshifts. The six-speed gearbox comes standard with Husqvarna’s Easy Shift quickshifter for clutchless up- and downshifts, and the company says the 4th, 5th and 6th gear teeth are glass-bead blasted for durability.
Maintenance should be easy on the wallet too. Husqvarna quotes service intervals of 15,000 km (about 9,320 miles) and claims fuel consumption of 4.5 L/100 km, which works out to roughly 52 mpg. With a 19-liter (5.0-gallon) tank, the company says range tops 248 miles (400 km). That’s a lot of gas-station-free daydreaming.
Chassis and Suspension
The Norden 901 uses a chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame with the engine as a stressed member, plus a chromoly steel trellis subframe designed to carry a passenger and luggage. Steering head angle is 64.2 degrees, wheelbase is 1,513 mm (59.6 in), and ground clearance is 252 mm (9.9 in).
Suspension is by WP APEX components at both ends. The 43 mm (1.7 in) fork delivers 220 mm (8.7 in) of travel with adjustable compression and rebound damping. The WP APEX rear shock adds preload adjustment to the compression and rebound clickers, with 215 mm (8.5 in) of travel. A steering damper comes standard, and the frame has provisions for an aftermarket-style adjustable off-road damper.
Rolling stock is pure adventure: a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear (2.50 x 21 and 4.50 x 18) wire-spoked wheels with tubeless aluminum rims, shod in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. The two-position seat sits at 859 or 879 mm (33.8 or 34.6 in), and the tapered aluminum handlebar offers six mounting positions across a 30 mm (1.2 in) range. Claimed weight without fuel is 204 kg (about 450 lb). Add a full tank and you’re still well short of the big-bore ADV heavyweights.
Brakes and Rider Aids
J.Juan brakes handle stopping duty. Up front, two 320 mm (12.6 in) floating discs are paired with radially mounted four-piston calipers. Out back, a 260 mm (10.2 in) disc is pinched by a two-piston floating caliper. Bosch’s 9MB two-channel ABS is cornering-sensitive and can be disengaged.
The electronics suite is where the Norden earns its keep off the pavement. Standard ride modes are Street, Rain and Offroad, each with its own throttle response, traction control, ABS and peak power settings. Offroad ABS disables ABS at the rear wheel, reduces intervention at the front and takes the lean-angle sensor out of the equation, so you can steer with the rear when the trail gets loose. The optional Explorer mode unlocks full customization, including nine levels of slip adjustment for the lean-sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC).
Cruise control is standard. LED lighting, including integrated fog lights and a daytime running light ring inspired by Husqvarna’s rally bikes, keeps you visible. A 5-inch TFT display shows the essentials, and the optional Connectivity Unit pairs with the Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app for calls, music and Turn-by-Turn+ navigation with up to 128 waypoints per route.
Accessories and Warranty
Husqvarna offers a long list of Technical Accessories for the Norden 901, including luggage systems, heated seats and grips, a taller windshield, a suspension lowering kit and an AkrapoviÄ Slip-on Line titanium silencer. If you want most of that pre-installed, the Expedition model is the shortcut.
Husqvarna’s U.S. site says the Norden 901 is covered by a Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty with up to four years of coverage, provided scheduled services are performed. The offer applies from model year 2025 onward. Ask your dealer for the fine print, since “up to” is doing some lifting there.
What Else Is Husqvarna Bringing to EICMA 2026?
The Norden 901 is the only bike Husqvarna has named so far. The release promises “an exclusive first look at further technical innovations for the offroad segment,” new machinery revealed at its press conference, and “a special surprise from Husqvarna’s offroad segment.” That press conference is set for November 3 at 10:45 a.m. CET (1:45 a.m. PST) in Hall 22, Booth G11. Husqvarna says full EICMA press materials and images will go live at the same time.

Our Take
A paint job isn’t going to rewrite the adventure-bike rulebook, and Husqvarna isn’t pretending it will. What the 2027 Norden 901 does is keep a well-rounded middleweight travel bike fresh, with a quickshifter, cruise control, cornering ABS and adjustable WP suspension all standard at $15,349. The blue looks sharp in photos. We’ll tell you if it looks even better under the lights in Milan.
