2026 Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid Second Ride

Day two of the official 2026 Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid press introduction covered a 200-mile off-road loop through the backcountry near Tamarack Resort, Idaho. Joining the press group for the ride was 1989 125 Supercross Champion Damon Bradshaw, riding alongside Pete Treadwell from WPS and Ian from Big Rock Moto.

The 2026 Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid updates the core middleweight adventure platform with longer range, revised chassis hardware, and expanded electronic rider aids.

Key Upgrades

• Dual-Cap 6.1-Gallon Fuel Tank: Twin side-mounted aluminum fuel cells lower the fuel mass on the chassis while extending range for long-distance touring.
• Long-Travel KYB Suspension: Upfront, Kashima-coated 46mm inverted KYB forks provide 9.1 inches of travel with independent hydraulic preload, compression, and rebound adjustment. The linkage-type rear shock offers 8.7 inches of travel and remote hydraulic preload adjustment.
• 16-Step Steering Damper: An adjustable Öhlins/Yamaha steering damper is mounted on the top triple clamp to manage handlebar movement over rough terrain.
• Rider Aids & Electronics: Equipped with Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) ride-by-wire, enabling selectable power modes (Sport and Explorer), traction control, slide control, and IMU-powered cornering ABS with a handlebar-mounted toggle switch for total system deactivation.
• Cockpit Amenities: Features a 6.3-inch vertical TFT display with three layout themes (Street, Explorer, and Raid roadbook), standard electronic cruise control, speed limiter, USB-C charging port, and a two-piece front fairing setup.

For multi-day navigation and gear storage, rackless luggage solutions such as the Giant Loop Luggage System mount directly to the rear subframe without requiring heavy steel mounting racks.

Electronics Architecture and Ergonomics

The addition of ride-by-wire throttle control on the 689cc CP2 parallel-twin engine brings electronic features previously restricted to Yamaha’s street and sport models, such as the 2026 Yamaha YZF-R7. Cruise control is standard equipment, managed via switchgear on the left handlebar.
