What is Yamaha doing? Building a baby Ténéré, that’s what. The Ténéré 4 Concept pairs an all-new single with a titanium Akrapovič pipe.

Yamaha’s little Ténéré steals the show on EICMA eve

Summary: The Yamaha Ténéré 4 Concept is a lightweight, A2-friendly adventure bike in development, unveiled in Milan on the eve of EICMA 2026. It uses an all-new single-cylinder engine, a newly developed frame, KYB suspension, 21/18-inch spoked wheels and a titanium Akrapovič exhaust. Yamaha also showed its RW700 and RW350 adventure scooters.

Good evening from Milan. EICMA 2026 hasn’t even opened its doors and Yamaha is already stirring the pot. The night before the show, Yamaha Motor rolled out its “Redefine the Standard” event and showed off new stuff for 2026 and beyond. The champagne was chilled, but we weren’t there to drink it. We were there for the bikes, and the star was the Yamaha Ténéré 4 Concept. For the full breakdown of Yamaha’s announcement, read our Yamaha Ténéré 4 Concept Preview. This is our first look, straight from the floor.

Yamaha Ténéré 4 Concept: The Baby Billy Goat

The Ténéré 4 hit the big screen first, then the real thing showed up staged in its own little forest, complete with rocks and greenery. Look at that bad billy goat. The Japanese contingent was going wild for it, and I get why. The compact titanium Akrapovič pipe is pretty sick, and the blue and purple topographic-map graphics (I called it urban camo on the night) look great in person.

Yamaha calls the Ténéré 4 an ongoing development project for a light, agile adventure bike that A2 license holders can ride. Power comes from an all-new single-cylinder engine, tuned for strong low-to-midrange torque with usable top-end performance. It sits in a newly developed frame with KYB suspension, a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheel, and Michelin Anakee Wild tires. The fuel tank is flat and low, and the bike is narrow, the way an off-road-ready ADV should be.

Yamaha developed the Ténéré 4’s technology and design from its Ténéré 700 experience, and you can see the family resemblance. To my eye, the fork and shock look lowered, and the linkage sits nice and flat. Yamaha also said more Ténéré models are coming down the road. It’s not a production bike yet, but this is the vision of Yamaha’s next small Ténéré. You heard it here first.

Yamaha RW700 and RW350: Adventure Scooters, Euro Style

Next to the Ténéré, Yamaha showed its RW Series adventure scooters, and Europeans love their scooters. People were flocking to these things, taking photos and shooting vlogs. I have no idea who watches scooter vlogs, but here we are, shooting one.

The RW700 packs Yamaha’s 689cc CP2 parallel twin, the same engine family as the Ténéré 700. It makes 69.3 PS at 8,250 rpm and 65 Nm of torque, and it shifts through Yamaha’s six-speed Y-AMT automated manual. A six-axis IMU runs the rider aids, and it rolls on Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. An RW700 Explore version adds adjustable front suspension, heated grips and seat, a center stand and backlit switches. The smaller RW350 runs an all-new, liquid-cooled 330cc engine with three riding modes, cruise control, smart-key ignition and a connected TFT display.

Verdict: Small Ténéré, Big Deal

The Ténéré 4 is the bike to watch from Yamaha’s Milan night. A light single-cylinder adventure bike built on Ténéré 700 know-how is exactly what a lot of riders have been asking for. Yamaha hasn’t announced displacement, power, weight, pricing or a U.S. launch, so stay tuned. We’ll be all over EICMA 2026 all week.
