2026 yamaha ténéré 700 world raid review
2026 Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid Review.

If your idea of a weekend getaway involves crossing three state lines, two deserts, and at least one sketchy gravel pass before lunch, Yamaha has built an adventure bike custom-tailored to your wanderlust. The 2026 Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid takes the lean, mean, dirt-loving philosophy of the standard Ténéré 700 and gives it the long-distance stamina of a desert rally racer.

What Makes the World Raid Special?

The defining feature of the World Raid model is its dual side-mounted fuel tanks. Carrying a total of 6.1 gallons of fuel, the system lowers the center of gravity compared to a single high-mounted tank while giving riders a massive range of 250 to 300 miles per fill-up.

Underneath the bodywork, Yamaha’s beloved 689cc CP2 parallel-twin engine remains the beating heart of the machine. Renowned for its linear torque delivery and bulletproof reliability, it now works alongside Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) ride-by-wire system, granting selectable power modes (Sport and Explorer), cruise control, and a 6-axis IMU with lean-sensitive traction and slide control.

Suspension & Chassis Enhancements

To handle the extra fuel load and rougher terrain, Yamaha upgraded the chassis:

  • KYB 46mm Inverted Front Fork: Fully adjustable with Kashima coating, bumping wheel travel up to 9.1 inches.
  • KYB Piggyback Rear Shock: Offers 8.7 inches of travel with a remote preload adjuster.
  • Steering Damper: A 16-way adjustable Öhlins-style damper helps keep head-shake in check over high-speed washboard sections.
  • Braking: Dual 282mm front discs paired with Brembo calipers and 3-mode selectable ABS (On, Rear Off, and Fully Off).

Whether you are navigating rocky singletrack or slinging dirt on fire roads, the World Raid delivers exceptional balance and terrain-munching stability. For a look at how this compares to previous iterations, check out our Moto-1.com 2025 Yamaha Ténéré 700 Review and our Middleweight ADV Shootout.

The Verdict

For riders who love the agility of middleweight adventure bikes but demand the range and plush suspension of open-class continent crushers, the Ténéré 700 World Raid hits the sweet spot.
