Ducati’s numbered track weapon, up close in Milan
Summary: The 2027 Ducati Panigale V4 SP is a numbered, track-focused Panigale with carbon wheels, an STM EVO-SBK dry clutch, a racing gearbox and Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 suspension. It makes 209 hp in U.S. trim and starts at €43,990 in France. U.S. pricing hasn’t been announced.
We’re at EICMA 2026 in Milan checking out Ducati’s new Panigale V4 SP, and it’s a special one. This is Ducati’s track-day special, built for riders who want factory hardware out of the crate. Ducati lists it from €43,990 in France, so think roughly 43,000 euro dollars. And here’s the bad news. I heard Ducati is making about 500 of these and they’re already sold out. If that’s true, you’ll have to wait until 2028. Ducati hasn’t published a production number, but it is a numbered edition. For the base bikes, read our 2027 Ducati Panigale V4 and V4 S Preview.
Desmosedici Stradale V4 and a Dry Clutch
The heart of the SP is Ducati’s 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V4, rated at 209 hp at 12,750 rpm and 89 lb-ft at 11,250 rpm in U.S. trim. The headline is the STM EVO-SBK dry clutch. You get that chang-chang-chang sound at idle, and it’s not just for show. With no clutch pack spinning in oil, you lose that drag. Pair it with Ducati Corse Performance oil and it’s worth up to 3.5 more horsepower. The SP also gets the Ducati Racing Gearbox with Neutral Lock and the quicker DQS 2.0 quickshifter calibration from the V4 R.
Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 and Brembo Hypure Brakes
Suspension is Öhlins third-generation semi-active: a 43mm NPX 25/30 fork and a TTX36 shock, both running Smart EC 3.0 that adjusts damping in real time based on load and rider inputs. The shock gets hydraulic preload adjustment, and the link rod adjusts plus or minus 5mm.
Up front you’ve got the new-gen Brembo Monobloc Hypure four-piston calipers on 330mm discs, fed by an MCS 19.21 master cylinder with a remote adjuster. Ducati also puts carbon fiber brake cooling ducts in the box for track days.
Carbon Wheels and a Hollow Double-Sided Swingarm
Look at the back of the bike. The SP uses Ducati’s double-sided Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm, finished in black. If you grew up with single-sided Panigale SPs, that’s a big change. Then there are the carbon fiber wheels, straight from the factory. They’re 2.1 lb lighter than the V4 S forged aluminum wheels, with 12% less rotational inertia up front and 19% less out back. Less unsprung mass means the suspension works better, and the bike changes direction quicker. The rear wears a 200-section Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP-V4.
Aero and Livery
The winglets are bigger. Ducati made them 20mm wider for 25% more downforce at 270 km/h, and they team up with those LED running lights up front. There’s a big swooped carbon front fender, too. And look at that tail. Where would you even put a license plate? We wouldn’t. The “Winter Test” livery mixes matte black with bright red details and a brushed aluminum fuel tank, plus a two-tone seat. Beautiful.
Verdict: Track Jewelry, If You Can Get One
The Panigale V4 SP is a jewel. Carbon wheels, a dry clutch, a racing gearbox and Öhlins electronics for what’s essentially race-bike money. It’s not for everybody, but if you live for track days and want the sound and feel of a factory bike, this is it. Now the hard part: finding one.
